Location Surveying

What You Need to Know About Location Surveys

What is a Location Survey?

Location Surveys will indicate the position of improvements on the land parcel vis-á-vis the apparent boundaries of the property.  The location survey shows the location of the improvements on the property in relation to the apparent boundary lines of the property. This requires  an on-site land plot inspection and is accurate to + / -  a couple of feet.

Why Do a Location Survey?

A location survey identifies differences between the actual observed occupation versus use and the description of record.  A location survey maps the  location of any improvements  vis-á-vis the boundary lines.  The location survey is the only practical and reliable way of establishing or  confirming basic property parameters.

What is the Result of a Location Survey?

The survey report will present a written description of the property, a street address, locations of any improvements, buildings and bordering properties. A complete property survey will also cover items  such as any right-of-ways or easements on the property.
